On the program: beauty contest, showhandling and demonstrations!

The aim of a dog show is to elect the best specimens of each breed. A qualified judge gives his vision on every dog engaged by breed, by class, by sex. He qualifies the dog’s beauty in line with the official standard and with the view of breeding. Only the most beautiful canines are prize-winning.
Almost 3,000 beautiful dogs march past in the rings before the observing eyes of the judges who are qualifying the most beautiful one of each breed and, in the end, on Sunday evening, they have to elect the Best in Show, the best dog of the exposition.

Besides young presenters are qualified on their competence to show a dog to the judge; this is the so-called showhandling. This sensational show may not be missed by the great experts and every family that is willing to buy their new pet under the best possible conditions. The Brussels Dog Show is the best way to get in direct contact with breeders of several countries and with the Royal Society Sint-Hubertus which is the official body with regard to dog breeding and corresponding issues. There are no dogs for sale at any dog show!

Socialisation is very important! Biting… a serious problem mainly caused by lack of education which has to be avoided urgently. The solution: socializing of the pup from the first days onwards!

On the occasion of it 112th edition the Royal Society Sint-Hubertus has prepared an attractive program: defending dogs and guide dogs, presented by the non-profit organisation “Les Amis des Aveugles”, will show their capabilities. Somewhat 40 people and their dogs, all members of the “Royal Club Cynologique de l’Ile-Sainte-Hélène”, will demonstrate the range of activities and exercises that are practised in a canine school.

The Royal Society of Sint-Hubertus, in co-operation with Royal Canin, would like to explain its twofold mission to the public: by means of its pedigree they first guarantee a well-socialised purebred dog and, secondly, they aim that dogs are treated respectfully in an atmosphere of well-being for the dog as well as… for his owner.

In case you do not want to miss anything, you are requested to come early; the judging will start at 10.00 AM sharp! The best dogs will not march past all on the same day. In case you do not want to miss your favourite breed, please check the day of its presentation beforehand.

The 113th edition of the Brussels Dog Show is a must in this coming weekend of December 12 & 13 ! Please be aware that only dogs taking part in the Dog Show are allowed to enter!
